Biedermeier was referred as the type of literature, music, visual arts and the furniture designs during a certain period between the years 1815 to 1848. This was the period when it was just after the end of the Napoleonic Wars in 1815, until the year of the European revolutions. The term `Biedermeier` symbolise those of the middle class during that period. In fact, the word `Biedermeier` was formed by 2 words, `Bieder` and `Meier`. The word `Bieder` stands for common in German, and the word `Meier` is a common surname in Germany.

Furnitures which are designed during that period reflects the Biedermeier style.
